After climbing 15 places last week Mud climbs from number 4 to the top of the charts, with “Lonely This Christmas” and after falling in the charts last week, the Rubettes climb back up the charts to number 3.

Seven singles move into the top 20 this week, the Wombles with “Wombling Merry Christmas”, who are at number 5, Rod Stewart with “You Can Make Me Dance Sing or Anything”, which is number 12, The Goodies with “The Inbetweenies / Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me”, are at number 13, KC & The Sunshine Band with “Sound Your Funky Horn”, at number 17,  Gilbert O’Sullivan with “Christmas Song”, is at number 18, Billy Swan with “I Can Help”, is at number 18 and Al Green with “Sha-La-La (Make Me Happy)”, is at number 20.

The biggest climber in this week’s top 20 is Ralph McTell, with “Streets of London”, which climbs 8 places to number 6.
