All this month we are going to focus on our 30 favourite
80s 12 Inch Singles, each day we will post about one 12 Inch Vinyl Single we
have in our record collection, following that, we will have a special 2 part show
on which we countdown our Top 30 Vinyl 12 Inch singles.
Note we are discussing the 12 Inch Singles in a random
order, so it doesn’t spoil the Top 30 Countdown Show.
Day 1.....
A-Ha - The Sun Always Shines On TV (Extended Version)
My favourite A-Ha track, such a powerful sounding Electronic track and the 12 inch version does not disappoint, in typical 80s 12
inch tradition the Extended Version is exactly that, the 7 inch expanded upon.
The single was released 16th December 1985 and
it was the first A-Ha 12 inch I bought.
The extended version is over 8 minutes long,
disappointingly there was just the one track on the B side and that was the
song “Driftwood”, which has the same length as the 7 Inch B side version.
“The Sun Always Shines On TV” reached Number 1 in the UK
Singles Chart.
